Lay Up Tooling
Coast Composites has more than 200,000 sq ft of manufacturing space, including a large metal fabrication shop with multiple 30-T cranes and a large in-house heat treat oven that can anneal at 1700 F. Invar processing and welding is a Coast specialty.
Recently added, Coast now has a 15,000 sq ft composite shop complete with a 12-ft x 30-ft autoclave.
Coast’s machine shop boast ten high speed 5-axis machines with bed sizes up to 24-ft x 75-ft long all contained in a 60,000 sq ft facility.
Tool finishing is done in-house and supported by multiple laser trackers.
Manufacturing is supported by extensive design and programming facilities, inspection, fabrications, cutting, grinding and bonding capabilities.
Complete vertical integration allows Coast to better control schedule and cost, particularly on large invar and composite tools.
